As of January 2003, I became a sales representative for Anchor Audio, Inc., a leading manufacturer of portable sound systems for over 25 years. A few months ago, I retired from the Nassau County Police Department after 35 years of service. I spent my last 8 years assigned to the Bureau of Special Operations, a tactical response unit. As a supervisor in this unit, I had the opportunity to purchase three of Anchor audio's Megavox Portable PA Systems that were used for tactical situations and outdoor training exercises. We used a battery-powered MegaVox at an extended barricaded armed subject scene. The hostage negotiators were able to operate the MegaVox with it's wireless mic from a safe distance of over 100 yards for almost 19 hours before we had to replace it with a fully charged system. Having used the MegaVox PA systems for the past four years, I am extremely satisfied with its performance, portability and durability.
